Why We Created BeyondTail
Share
The bond with a pet doesn't end when they do. It changes shape — and we didn't feel like there was a good, honest place for people to hold onto that shape once it changed.
Most of what exists for pet loss falls into two categories: generic sympathy products that don't feel personal, or elaborate memorial services that feel like more than most people want or need. We wanted something in between — something small, sincere, and genuinely useful.
Small, on purpose. A memorial page shouldn't require a big decision or a big expense. That's why BeyondTail starts at $1 — enough to make it a real, deliberate act, not so much that it becomes a barrier. Every piece — the page, the letter, a renewed symbol — is its own small choice, never a subscription you have to remember to cancel.
Honest, on purpose. The letter we write in a pet's voice is based only on what you actually tell us — nothing invented, no generic filler, no imagined details. We built it that way because a memorial should feel true, even the parts made possible by AI. If you didn't tell us about it, it doesn't appear in the letter.
Private, unless you choose otherwise. Every page is private by default, visible only to the people you share the link with. If you'd like it to appear in our public Memorials gallery, that's entirely your choice — never the default.
Built to last, not to fade. A pet's symbol on their page grows through stages as you return to it, and settles gently — never disappears — if you don't. It's meant to reflect something true about memory itself: it doesn't vanish if you're not actively tending it, but it does brighten when you do.
We built BeyondTail because we believe the love you had for your pet deserves somewhere real to live — not a product trying to sell you closure, just a quiet place that's actually yours.
